Job Description: Maintain the Agency's facilities located at Enterprises Plaza, Orange Park, Enterprise Way, Green Cove Springs, various residential houses in Clay County and to maintain the Agency's vehicle fleet.

Responsibilities and duties of this position include:


  • Follow all Challenge Enterprises of North Florida, Inc. policies and procedures as set forth in the Board of Directors approved Personal Handbook.
  • Assist in promoting the Power of People and Possibilities
  • Follow approved purchasing procedures
  • Responsible for the overall cleanliness, maintenance, appearance, safety at all agency facilities including storage areas.
  • Responsible for maintenance of tools, equipment and storage areas
  • Attend weekly staff meetings
  • Attend training as directed by supervisor
  • Prepare weekly reports on scheduled projects and future projects.
  • Responsible for safety compliance at all agency facilities
  • Follow and or establish daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual maintenance schedule
  • Follow all agency procedures for processing maintenance requests. Assure all maintenance requests have been completed in a timely manner and documented.
  • Assist with daily work schedule for maintenance staff
  • Available to tenants via cell phone, fax or office voice mail
  • Responsible for vehicle maintenance, repairs and emergency road issues. Maintain logs on all vehicles
  • Work with volunteers to assist with activities
  • Request volunteer support from Volunteer Coordinator
  • Become knowledgeable of all the agency's activities
  • Be flexible when schedule changes occur that interfere with daily activities
  • Prioritize all work and set timelines for completion of tasks
  • Help train and evaluate the staff and agency needs to ensure safe healthy facilities and vehicles
  • Work cooperatively with all agency staff, participates, and customers
  • Represent the agency in a professional and positive manner.
  • Responsible for key inventory.
  • Must follow budgetary guidelines.
  • Use agency approved timekeeping system to approve payroll for maintenance staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid Florida Driver License with clean 3-year MVR.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment, local, drug test, level 2 and a nationwide background check.
  • Experience in working with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

      Preferer a minimum of 3 to 5 years' of relevant experience in Electrical. Plumbing,          HVAC, Machinery and general building maintenance/construction.

  • Must have a minimum of 3 to 5 years' of relevant experience in automotive service and repair.
  • Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds using proper lifting techniques
  • Must be able to twist, stoop, bend, reach, climb ladders and stand or walk for extended period of time.
  • Must be able to understand written and oral instructions and follow through efficiently.
  • Must be able to read and understand manufactures written instructions.
  • Must be able to drive all agency vehicles.
  • Must be able to speak and write English.
  • Must be able to respond to emergencies, such as security issues, vehicle breakdowns, etc.
